My connection to Temple Beth Israel (TBI) today is less about aspiration and more about a profound fear—the fear that the essence of my childhood, the friendships, and the resilience that our community embodies could be forgotten. This fear was a call to action to reach out to TBI friends across the USA and beyond so they can take up the cause of forming The Preservation Society. The efforts of those friends helped get us to where we are today, and I’m deeply thankful to the entire interfaith community for their dedication and pride in our shared American heritage.
